    Emanuela degli Esposti was born in Bologna where at age five she began the study of music with Maria Luisa Rabbi, pianist and accordionist. As a young child she was an accordion virtuoso, playing the same instrument as her father, Alfredo, and her grandfather, Primo Guidotti, accompanied by different orchestras and in duo with M° Francesco Veronesi. Several composers, such as Carlo Venturi , Arnaldo Bettelli and Mario Borghi, dedicated their compositions to her.

    During 1977-78 she played her accordion on the Russian cruise ship, Ivan Franko, around Spain, France, Great Britain, Morocco, Yugoslavia, Greece, Turkey, Russia, Tunis and Egypt. After 1976 she recorded many LPs which were regularly broadcast on the radio, among the most popular pieces were Le Variazioni del Carnevale di Venezia, I pescatori di perle, Revival Bologna and Dulcis in fungo (opposing nuclear power). She taught accordion at the Academy of Floridi.

    At the age of fifteen she entered the G.B. Martini Conservatory of Bologna where she began her studies on the harp with Alba Novella Schirinzi and within seven years brilliantly graduated with honors. As a devoted student of martial arts, studying with Shin Dae Wong and Alessandro Mattioli, she attained the highest level of Kung Fu and Tai Chi Chuan. She attended classes of The Alexander Tecnique held by Fran Robinson at the Lama Tzong Kapa Institute in Pomaia (Pi), with Daniele Bottaro in Venice and at the School of superior specialization in Music in Saluzzo (Cn).

    In 1981, at the recommendation of M° Zubin Mehta, she went to Israel to study at the Tel Aviv Rubin Academy with Judith Liber, first harpist of Israel Philarmonic Orchestra. This collaboration continued in Italy where the young Degli Esposti participated in the Judith Liber Master Classes in Fiesole (Vincigliata Castle 1986 and 1996); Meda (Como -1987); Scuola di Alto perfezionamento di Saluzzo (1988-99); Verona (1990); Lanciano (1992); the annual course at the Academy of Florence (organized with the contribution of the Countess Yoko Nagae Ceschina and under the artistic direction of Zubin Mehta in 1992 and 1993); the Academy Mabellini in Pistoia (1996 and 1997).

    From 1998 to 2011, Emanuela Degli Esposti has organized and tought at the Judith Liber International Master Class for Harp in Villa Camozzi on the Como Lake, which celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2007. Among significant scholastic experiences was the master class with Susanna Mildonian at the Levi Foundation in Venice in 1987, the Course with Frederique Cambreling at the Academy of Music of Sion in Switzerland in 1988 and the Seminary of Mara Galssi L'Harpe de la Reine at the Civic School of Milan in 2002. In December 2003 she, together with her students, participated in the Incontro con il Maestro, a master class of David Watkins at the Peri Music Institute of Reggio-Emilia.



    Biografia // Studi

    Nata a Bologna, Emanuela Degli Esposti inizia gli studi musicali a cinque anni con Maria Luisa Rabbi, pianista e fisarmonicista. Fin da bambina si esibisce come virtuosa della fisarmonica, lo strumento suonato dal padre Alfredo e dal nonno Primo Guidotti, accompagnata da diverse orchestre e in duo con il M. Francesco Veronesi. Vari compositori, tra i quali Carlo Venturi, Arnaldo Bettelli e Mario Borghi, le dedicano dei brani.

    Negli anni 1977-78 suona sulla nave da crociera russa Ivan Franko con la quale viaggia in Spagna, Francia, Inghilterra, Marocco, Jugoslavia, Grecia, Turchia, Russia, Tunisia ed Egitto. A partire dal 1976 incide numerosi LP, regolarmente trasmessi dalla radio, tra i quali Le Variazioni del Carnevale di Venezia e ..., I pescatori di perle, Revival Bologna e Dulcis in fungo (contro il nucleare). Insegna fisarmonica presso l'Accademia dei Floridi.

    All'età di 15 anni intraprende anche lo studio dell'arpa sotto la guida di Alba Novella Schirinzi diplomandosi in soli sette anni con il massimo dei voti al Conservatorio G.B.Martini di Bologna. Si dedica alla pratica delle arti marziali raggiungendo i massimi livelli del Kung Fu e del Tai Chi Chuan con i maestri Shin Dae Wong e Alessandro Mattioli. Frequenta i corsi di Alexander Tecnique tenuti da Fran Robinson presso l'Istituto Lama Tzong Kapa di Pomaia (PI), e con Daniele Bottaro a Venezia e presso la Scuola di Alto Perfezionamento di Saluzzo (CN).

    Nel 1981, grazie al maestro Zubin Mehta, inizia a studiare alla Rubin Academy di Tel Aviv con Judith Liber, prima arpa dell'Israel Philarmonic Orchestra. Lo studio con Judith Liber continua anche in Italia nei corsi di perfezionamento di Fiesole (Castello di Vincigliata, 1986 e 1996); Meda (Como, 1987); la Scuola di Alto Perfezionamento Musicale di Saluzzo (Cuneo, 1988 e 1989); Verona (1990); Lanciano (1992); i corsi annuali all'Accademia di Firenze, organizzati con il contributo della contessa Yoko Nagae Ceschina e la direzione artistica di Zubin Mehta nel 1992 e 1993; l'Accademia Mabellini di Pistoia (1996 e 1997).

    Dal 1998 al 2011, Emanuela Degli Esposti ha organizzato e insegnato alle Master Classes di Judith Liber a Villa Camozzi sul Lago di Como, giunta alla sua tredicesima edizione nel 2011. Tra le esperienze scolastiche significative si ricorda anche il corso di perfezionamento con Susanna Mildonian presso la Fondazione Levi di Venezia nel 1987, il corso con Fredèrique Cambreling all'Academie de Musique di Sion in Svizzera nel 1988 e il Seminario di Mara Galassi L'Harpe de la Reine presso la Scuola Civica di Milano nel 2002. Nel dicembre 2003 ha partecipato con i suoi allievi a Incontro con il Maestro, master class di David Watkins presso l'Istituto Musicale Peri di Reggio Emilia.
